I am pleased to let you know that my research paper entitled ‘Does Personal Consultancy Improve the Well-being of Junior Doctors’ has been accepted for publication and will be presented at the prestigious Academy of Medical Educators Conference on 12-13 November 2024 at Aston University, Birmingham, UK, AoME 2024 (medicaleducators.org).

Having a family member and numerous friends in the medical profession, I saw first-hand the pressure they experienced during the transition from medical student to junior doctor. I wanted to see if Personal Consultancy can strengthen their sense of well-being and resilience. I am encouraged by the findings suggesting that this group can benefit from an approach that combine s counselling and coaching.

you can join us on PCIPN ON FACEBOOK

As some of you know, MSc Integrative Counselling and Coaching already had a Facebook page with over a hundred members. However, that page has not been very active recently, and also we thought that PCIPN would be more inclusive. The main purpose of the page is to be a kind of forum for members to share news and information, ask questions, organise peer supervision and other groups, and discuss topics of interest to integrative practitioners and personal consultants (such as for example, what to do when a client is stuck). So, ultimately, it will be up to members to keep it going. Please join the page and let others know about it!
